Well, machine number 131 is out the door. That’s how many machines we’ve shipped to date. I have contacted through number 200 on my list. We’ve shipped machines as far as AUSTRALIA and the Netherlands. There’s one in Alaska, Southern California, Upstate Maine, Florida, Texas, and most of the states in between.

I still cannot think of the correct words to describe how it feels to watch your dream come true. It is simply amazing, but I’m not going to lie…it’s also hard work!! But since I love my work, it’s not a chore! How did I get this blessed?

I was and am amazed at the number of parts going through the machining process in his shop right now. I have, in my possession, all the parts to build through machine number 55. There is a batch of 20 more to be picked up when these are complete. When those 20 are finished, I should be able to pick up more parts to make more machines. We will probably do batches of 30-35.

This past week has been busy… I went to visit our man in machining, and he gave me a price. Finally, actually, I am so very grateful to him for taking this long to consider his costs. It shows me that he’s spent countless hours figuring out the best way to make each and every part of the Tru-Knit. His thoughtfulness tells us that he’s in this for the long haul. Getting geared up to make these parts is quite an undertaking. All of his machines are 2018 and newer models. His shop is impeccable, and his parts are like none others I’ve seen in machine shops. He’s come up with brilliant ways to make these machines and make them knit so smoothly. Ok, enough verbiage.

Here’s the low-down:

The Tru-Knit Circular Knitting Machine will come with:

Tru-Knit Circular Knitting Machine

One Cylinder, your choice 48, 54, 60, 64, 72, 80 or 84

One Ribber

One Ribber Dial, to match cylinder choice. 48, 54, 60, 64, 72, 40 or 42

Your choice of 1:1 ratio or reduced ratio crank handle

100 cylinder needles

100 ribber needles

Stack of 3 weights

Spring extender

4 heel forks* and weights

Crescent tool*

Slotted Silver Bullet Yarn Carrier

Slotted Yarn Mast Topper with Heel Spring

Digital Counter*

Buckle*

Allen Wrenches needed for the Machine

Red Pick

Oil

Setup Bonnet

Latch Tool

Machine Lock

One cone of project yarn, the remainder of the sample sock cone.

One cone of waste yarn

A ribbed knitted sample with a ribbed heel will be knitted on the machine and included with the shipment. The sample will be a sock with a toe, knit at my preferred sock tension. If the knitter so chooses, he or she may keep all adjustments the same and use the sock sample provided to judge the length of the sock they would need in order to make a sock that fits. That’s provided one doesn’t get it out of the box and begin turning screws and making adjustments before knowing what the adjustments actually do. All screws are hex heads, so you can’t just go turning knobs and changing things accidentally.

$2950 for the total package.

Pay with a check, and the price is $2850.
Shipping is not included. If delivered or picked up, applicable sales tax will apply. (Sales tax if you pick up in CG MO would be about $185) Shipping is always less expensive than sales tax. (the machine and goods will ship in two boxes. It should be around $40, unless you live on the other side of the Rocky Mountains, around $60. International shipping via USPS will be exact cost of the shipping.

Additional cylinders $250
Additional Ribber Dials $130

Cylinders Available 84, 72, 64, 60, 54 & 48 Ribber Dials Available 42, 72, 64, 60, 54, 48 All cylinders will have a ribber stop pin installed on them.

*These items can be personalized at no charge, or they can come with the Tru-Knit logo.

There are no hidden charges, such as, “well, if you want a cylinder spring for your machine, it will be an additional cost.” I didn’t list a cylinder spring above, but it does come with a cylinder spring. You’ll need a table and a light to get this bad boy knitting. Tables are conveniently available on CSMSupplies.com

The Tru-Knit has two screw knobs on the bottom of the machine that clamp to a table up to 1″ thick. It is shown on the solid oak table that I sell on CSM Supplies. This table is solid, with no wobble and made for a circular knitting machine.
I don’t have a price yet, and I don’t know when more will ship. I don’t know where you are on the “List.” I have a box with everyone who said they want to buy a machine. Everyone has an index card. They are dated in the order that you spoke to me and asked to be put on the list. I will contact people in that date order. When I contact you, you will the ability to Buy or Pass. I am a one-woman operation, with massive support from my husband. I’m doing the best I can, but I will promise you this, I will always be HONEST with my answers. I won’t make updates than not having the machine when I said I would have the machine.

Jamie testing the Tru-Knit

I don’t know when he will give me a final price. The people who have the machine trust me and know that I will not skin them and that the machine will not be outrageously expensive. I will tell you, it will not be the cheapest machine on the market. My goal is to be the best machine on the market.

I am watching the people who have the machine learn it. It is a different operating system, and the machine is not just like your old machine, so you still have to get used to it, and you know what I am going to say? It takes practice to make perfect socks every time. For the past two days, Joyce has been sitting beside me, making socks on the 72-cylinder. She made operator error mistakes, and one time, a needle flew out of the machine and hit her! We laughed a good one at that trick…there was a ribber needle and a cylinder needle in the same slot because she forgot to remove the cylinder needle after transferring the stitch to the ribber needle. It must have just hit that cylinder needle at just the right angle, and bam! there was a needle in her lap!
All in all, the mistakes were operator errors and not machine errors. The point is, any machine you get will take practice to make perfect socks. I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you that no one is perfect. Being kind is a good practice, but it starts with being kind to yourself and letting yourself make silly mistakes.

The most recent discovery is that it works with those stupid setup bonnets with rings. If you know me, you know how I feel about those setup bonnets, so why did I even try it in the first place?? But I did, and the rings did not get jammed up in the slots! Cool, right?
